Barbara Corrado Pope, mystery writer... REVIEW! Contemporary Romance.... TREASON'S CHILD // FIVE STAR REVIEW is a voyage through luxurious settings in France and beyond, a life of private planes, yachts, boutique hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants. At the same time, it's a story of head-over-heels love (accompanied by some daring sex scenes) between Steven and Marisol-an American musician and a French/Spanish beauty with an aristocratic background and a dazzling array of talents and accomplishments. Add to this knowing commentary on music, art, European history and class and cultural differences (and even observations on geopolitics and French imperialism in West Africa). With Steven's first-person narration, the character of Marisol assumes almost divine status. Throughout, there is a sense that the fortuitous intersection of Steven and Marisol's lives marks a special kind of giddy romantic bliss, but at the same time there's an intimation of tragedy as a counterpoint to their happiness. Marisol is quite a woman, and this is quite a story!

TREASON'S CHILD
FIVE STARS!...
is a classic love story loaded with tricks, spies, Insurrection! Her family’s background is filled with fascists and Nazi collaborators.. Ross depicts Steven, a man of mediocre musical talent who, after years of “playing the field,” meets the one woman who completes him.
Marisol is a complicated, sophisticated, French heiress involved in wonderful charity work. They meet in France by sheer chance and almost immediately their beautiful romance begins.
They quickly become a couple. and Ross’s story creates a travelogue of beautiful, and often exotic places. During their myriad vacations, they enjoy incredible epicurean delights. Rose pays tremendous detail to both the history of the regions, focusing often on places of religious and/or historical fame, and their very upscale dining experiences. Very full of Michelin Stars! If you liked Diane Lane's film, PARIS CAN WAIT, you will also love this Marisol Trilogy!
Ross’s knowledge of opera, classical, and other styles of music, gourmet dining, and both architecture, and history make this a most interesting read.
I enjoyed the details about the couple’s lovely... life together. This is a classic story of two lovers on a quest to fight sedition and insurrection being fomented by her rich, perverted family, who have found a perfect life together despite the challenges ..
